Importante ceremonia se realizo en el Sal\u00f3n de la Municipalidad de Tucapel entre el alcalde Jaime Veloso y el Comit\u00e9 de Protectores de Animales de Tucapel, en la cu\u00e1l firmaron un convenio ente ambas organizaciones en Pro de actividades de Esterilizaci\u00f3n de mascotas de la comuna para el a\u00f1o 2010. Este importante acuerdo es el resultado de un trabajo desarrollado por el Comit\u00e9 de Protectores de Animales de Tucapel desde el a\u00f1o 2006, en funci\u00f3n de actividades para bajar la tasa de crecimiento de animales abandonados en la Comuna, educar a los comuneros en tenencia responsable y respeto animal, y dado esto se ha logrado denunciar hechos de \u00e9sta naturaleza, con resultado de procesos en que han dado ha lugar las penas y multas correspondientes a maltrato animal. Cabe destacar el reconocimiento a las personas que han aportado a \u00e9sta actividad, Magaly Jara, Diana Chavarr\u00eda, Olga Bustamante, Eugenia Leyton, Daniel Guti\u00e9rrez, Alex Lermanda y en especial la importante gesti\u00f3n desarrolladas por Erna Silva del Departamento Social y Fabiola Soto del Departamento de Salud.
