Yungay 19 de agosto, la comunidad escolar rindi\u00f3 homenaje al padre de la patria Bernardo O\u2019Higgins, en el aniversario de su natalicio ocurrido el 20 de agosto de 1778. El Colegio Cholgu\u00e1n fue el encargado de organizar el acto que se llev\u00f3 a cabo en el Gimnasio del Complejo Deportivo de Paneles Arauco, con la asistencia de autoridades, representantes de los establecimientos educacionales y p\u00fablico en general. La ceremonia se inici\u00f3 con la interpretaci\u00f3n del himno nacional, posteriormente la alumna de 1\u00ba a\u00f1o medio; Katherine Sandoval Becerra realiz\u00f3 una alocuci\u00f3n patri\u00f3tica sobre los ideales del padre de la patria. Acto seguido se dio paso a la presentaci\u00f3n folcl\u00f3rica del Taller de cueca, para continuar con el Taller de actuaci\u00f3n con la representaci\u00f3n teatral \u201cO\u2019Higgins, vida y exilio\u201d, tambi\u00e9n los alumnos de prekinder se hicieron presentes con el baile denominado \u201cLos colores de mi bandera\u201d y para finalizar los alumnos de kinder a cuarto medio realizaron un baile de la Fantas\u00eda Nortina.
