El hecho se habr\u00eda originado por una discusi\u00f3n y posterior ri\u00f1a y la ingesta de alcohol en calle Angamos frente a la Capilla de la Cruz. Finalmente Carabineros de Yungay dio con el paradero del presunto autor del homicidio quien fue identificado con las iniciales R.A.M.M. de 25 a\u00f1os domiciliado en Yungay y era apodado el \u201cCalame\u00f1o\u201d qui\u00e9n registraba antecedentes por robo y amenazas.
