Las v\u00edctimas iban a bordo del veh\u00edculo menor, que se dirig\u00eda hacia Chill\u00e1n y que tras colisionar con el cami\u00f3n, que lo hac\u00eda en sentido contrario, se volc\u00f3 a un costado de la ruta totalmente desintegrado. El conductor del cami\u00f3n, Javier Morales, result\u00f3 ileso. Las v\u00edctimas fueron identificadas como Juan Francisco Correa Parra (73) y su esposa Mercedes Aedo Cid (74), mientras que un tercer ocupante,\u00a0Oscar Riquelme Cid, de 57 a\u00f1os, con domicilio en Yungay, result\u00f3 herido de gravedad, siendo trasladado hasta el Hospital Herminda Mart\u00edn de Chill\u00e1n. Los tres ocupantes del vehiculo menor con domicilio en Yungay. Para investigar las causas del accidente, lleg\u00f3 al lugar personal de la SIAT \u00d1uble de Carabineros.
